Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may process account and sign-in details, favourites, review content, review media, correspondence, installer claim evidence and review decisions, subscription identifiers, installer-managed profile content, installer-page interactions, device and request information, and security logs.
We also store a signed random visitor identifier for aggregated installer analytics.
Why we use it
We use personal information to provide requested features, verify authority to manage installer profiles, administer subscriptions, protect accounts and the service, publish submitted content, respond to enquiries, measure installer-directory usage, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Our legal bases can include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing and retention
We use service providers for hosting, databases, email, private evidence storage and payment processing. Payment card details are entered on Stripe and are not stored by Compare Air Con. We only share information where needed to operate those services, comply with law or protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Uploaded installer claim evidence is scheduled for deletion 30 days after a final decision. We retain the verification checklist, decision and necessary subscription records for account, security, dispute and legal-record purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to receive a portable copy of information. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
